La Piuma Pecorino Terre Di Chieti White ’18
This is a great weekday sipper, that overdelivers on value and price. The varietal of Pecorino is not normally seen here in the US and makes it unique. Lighter than Chardonnay, less acidic than Sauvignon Blanc with an old world elegance that pairs great with all manner of dishes. This wine hails from the Abruzzo region of Italy, known for warm sunny days and limited rainfall in the growing season. The vineyards rest in a hilly region and the soils here are clay and calcareous. The wine is bright yellow with abundant fruit on the nose and palate leading to a dry finish. Serve chilled with appetizers, fish or fresh cheeses.
